Salvation is a Gift, Not a Reward

But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. -Ephesians 2:4

This is what the Lord of Heaven's Armies says: You can be sure that I will rescue my people from the east and from the west. -Zechariah 8:7

"If a man has a hundred sheep and one wonders away, what will he do? Won't he leave the ninety-nine other on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost?" -Matthew 16:12

"In the same way, it is not my Heavenly Fathers will that even one of these little ones should perish." -Matthew 16:14

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. -Ephesians 2:8-9

Now all of us can come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done for us. - Ephesians 2:18

He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed. -1 Peter 2:24

"Didn't you ever read this in the Scriptures? 'The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone. This is the Lord's doing, and it is wonderful to see.'" -Mark 12:10-11

Together, we are in his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. -Ephesians 2:20
